Stories of being human.
Looking beyond the labels to the human beneath.
An independent human storytelling + documentary studio by Catherine Spring

We walk past entire worlds every day.
Every person carries a story we can't see from the outside.
Real Life in Technicolour is about getting curious enough to notice.
Stories from ordinary life. Because ordinary doesn't mean insignificant.
Everybody deserves to know their life matters.
STORY → RECOGNITION → CONNECTION

WILD COURAGE
Changing the narrative.
Looking beyond the label.
Starting the conversation.
One human story at a time.
Wild Courage is the flagship storytelling project for
Real Life in Technicolour.
It's a documentary storytelling project exploring the experiences that shape us - the history we carry, the labels we're given, the connections that hold us, and the courage it takes to keep writing what comes next.

For 30 days, I'll be going out into the wild - collecting stories, asking questions and exploring what it means to be human.
Come with me. Be part of it.

THE HUMAN BEHIND REAL LIFE
Hi, I’m Catherine.
A storyteller, photographer, writer and artist, endlessly curious about people.

For more than twenty years, my work has taken me into people's lives - through journalism, humanitarian work, community outreach, therapeutic art, and mental health advocacy. Again and again, I've had the privilege of hearing people's stories and discovering the human behind them.
Again and again, I've seen what happens when we look beneath the surface - beyond the job title, diagnosis, circumstance or label - and meet the human underneath.
Real Life in Technicolour grew from that curiosity - but it's personal too. My Dad died by suicide when I was five. He was 31. More recently, watching my Mum's life change with dementia has made one question increasingly insistent:
What really matters in a human life?
Real Life grew from my desire to keep asking that question - and to notice, record and celebrate the extraordinary ordinary lives unfolding all around us.
